Google and Motorola have a winner gadget on their hands with the soon-to-be unveiled Moto X, which a new report said is likely to make a noticeable impact in the mobile device industry for the remaining months of 2013.

Mid-range as it is, the Moto X, formerly known as the Motorola X-Phone, carries the qualities of a winner handset, which according to a new research note from Goldman Sachs should be enough for consumers to take notice, including the two tech titans - Apple and Samsung.

While KGI Securities' Ming-chi Kuo had earlier scored the upcoming mobile phone for its lack of innovative features, Goldman seems convinced that the device, which is the product of the collaboration between Google and Motorola, has the chops to make dent on the industry.

Particularly impressive with the gadget is its precognitive features that potentially will raise the bar in race for providing top-notch user experience to gadget buyers.

Reports have indicated that the Moto X will be capable of predicting in advance what its owner would want to perform. The device, according to BGR News, will automatically activate the camera once users hold it in a certain orientation.

Another predictive feature is the phone's ability to independently shift into 'driving mode' once it detects that users are in a moving vehicle, allowing for hands-free functions and safer smartphone use.

These capabilities, Goldman Sachs said, are not expected to be showcased this year on mid-range Samsung Galaxy models and the so-called cheaper iPhone edition, tentatively called as the iPhone 5C or the iPhone Lite.

"If the Moto X were to enjoy success it could narrow the competitive gap between Samsung Electronics and Moto X," BGR reported Goldman as saying on its research note.

The real force, however, that could propel the Moto X to the top of the game is the vaunted Google might and resources.

"Google's Motorola strategy clearly has the potential to make it an even more formidable competitor for Apple over time," Goldman wrote.

With the tech giant in full support of the Moto X release date this August, Motorola can take comfort on the fact that Google's backing would push the flagship handset and other future products for wider market exposure and promises of great success, the analytic firm said.
