Mike Tyson Airplane Incident: What Allegedly Happened Before Punches Were Thrown
Former professional boxer Mike Tyson was seen punching an overly excited passenger on a Wednesday night flight after the passenger allegedly started harassing him.
The altercation occurred around 10:30 p.m. PT as Tyson, 55, was attempting to fly from San Francisco International Airport to Florida on a JetBlue flight, TMZ first reported on Thursday.
The passenger and his friend first took a selfie with Tyson as they were boarding the plane. The passenger then became extra excited as he realized that he was seated just one row behind the boxer. The 55-year-old was originally ok with the interactions but became frustrated as the passenger did not stop making comments to him, a witness explained to TMZ.

After Tyson became agitated with the “extremely intoxicated” passenger that “wouldn’t stop provoking” him after asking him to chill out, he began to throw several punches.
Tyson, who reportedly walked off the plane after the incident, left the passenger with a bloodied forehead. Following the altercation, the passenger received medical treatment and also went to the police to report what happened.
Police and Tyson have not yet commented on the incident.
Tyson has had a past of temperament problems along with a list of criminal charges, including crimes as a kid including robbery, pickpocketing and mugging. In September 1991, he was indicted on one count of rape, two counts of criminal deviant behavior and one count of confinement. He was convicted of the rape charge in 1992.
