Miley Cyrus Reveals How and Why She Licked an Iron Hammer in 'Wrecking Ball' [VIDEO]

Miley Cyrus created a history of sorts when she went naked and licked an iron hammer in her latest music video "Wrecking Ball." No other artist has ever done that and gone to this extent of licking off lifeless things ever in a music video. She was just being Miley. But what was going on in the mind of the 20-year-old songstress when she was holding on to that iron hammer and licking it?

Cyrus reveals on a recent Ellen DeGeneres show that she wasn't even aware when she held the sledgehammer in her hand and started making out with it as she was just following the directions of her director Terry Richardson then.

"[He said] 'Look like you're in love with it, you're really sad!'" Cyrus tells DeGeneres. "I just started kissing it. I didn't even know why. He was like, 'Keep doing it! Keep doing it! Looks like you really are in love with this thing!'"

Miley was completely lost in oblivion when she held a sledgehammer and even forgot that it had paint on it but was reminded by the production unit.

"You can't lick that thing! There's paint!," the production unit warned Miley but she went on doing her act. Miley also said that her holding on to the sledgehammer signifies that she was sticking to the last bits of love in her life.

"[I said] 'I don't care, I think this is actually going to be dope,'" Cyrus responded. "So everything around just looks like I'm in love and holding on to whatever last little bit that there is, even if that's what's destroying the place. You're holding onto that sledgehammer even if it's what's destroying everything around you."

Miley Cyrus was also seen crying in the music video of "Wrecking Ball" which had everyone talking that the ex-Hannah Montana star was shedding tears over her break-up with Liam Hemsworth. However the "We Can't Stop" singer says that the real reason was something else. She was crying because her dog had died. In fact Miley has been claiming in all her recent interviews that she has been actually the happiest ever since her split.
