Miley Cyrus sits out as Gwen Stefani returns on ‘The Voice’ Season 12
Miley Cyrus will be taking a break from coaching up-and-coming artists on NBC’s singing talent show “The Voice” and Gwen Stefani will sit on her behalf for Season 12.
NBC Entertainment president Paul Telegdy said the “Wrecking Ball” singer will return for Season 13 as he announced Stefani’s return. Stefani will join newbie coach Alicia Keys and veterans Adam Levine and Blake Shelton for Season 12, which will premiere in February 2017.
“We can’t wait to experience the unique chemistry and energy Gwen, Alicia, Blake and Adam will bring to season 12,” said Telegdy
“With Miley returning for season 13, we’re truly ecstatic about the unmatched musical know-how and talent coming together in our coming seasons.”
The “No Doubt” singer previously appeared on “The Voice” seasons 7 and 9. It was her stint on the multi-awarded reality talent show that spurred her romance with fellow coach and country singer Shelton.
Stefani joined “The Voice” coaching panel in 2014 after Christina Aguilera left to give birth and take care of her baby. Shelton announced his divorce from Miranda Lambert on July 20, 2015 after four years of marriage. Stefani followed suit when she divorced Gavin Rossdale on Aug. 3, 2015 after 13 years of marriage. Stefani shares three sons with her estranged husband.
