Miley Cyrus working on two different albums, plans to drop one for free
New details have emerged about singer Miley Cyrus' new album. The “Party in the U.S.A” singer is working on two different albums, one of which she is going to release for free.
According to Billboard, Cyrus is working on a solo album but she is also collaborating with the Flaming Lips for another yet-untitled album too. The album will have songs about her dead pets, the website said, adding that she is planning to give away this alum for free.
Flaming Lips frontman referred to the album as “Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Pets” and there is speculation in the media that Cyrus has sung a song about her late dog Floyd too in the same album. Floyd died when Cyrus was on her “Bangerz” tour last year.
“It’s not a Miley record,” Billboard said about the album, according to “It’s a project she’s been working on with the Flaming Lips. It’s amazing, it’s incredible, it just needs to be understood that it’s not a typical, straightforward Miley record --we don’t want there to be confusion in the marketplace.”
The source declined to comment on the number of songs in the album but the website added that there could be seven songs on it. Cyrus' upcoming album is mix of “psychedelic rock and pop music.” “But at the end of the day, it is Miley,” added the source.
“Tiger Dreams” and “Freaky”-- two tracks from the album are already available online. Cyrus performed “Tiger Dreams” with the Flaming Lips at an Adult Swim party in New York in May.
There was speculation in the media some time back that Cyrus was leaving her record label RCA, so that she could release her album for free. "Miley's not driven by dollars. She makes her own path,” her manager Adam Leber told Marie Claire in a previous interview.
However, none of this looks true as RCA CEO Peter Edge confirmed to Billboard that the “Wrecking Ball” songstress is “absolutely with RCA” and they love working with her. Edge did not divulge any details about the album.
