Miley Goes Topless for 'Free the Nipple' Campaign: What is it All About? [SEE PHOTO/VIDEO]
Miley oh Miley! There never goes a week when we don't get to hear anything naughty (read controversial) that the singer does. After appearing nude a number of times, Miley want women around the world to follow her suit as she is supporting an eerie cause "Free The Nipple." The "Wrecking Ball" posted a topless photo of herself on her Twitter page to support the cause. Check it out here.
So what is "Free the Nipple" all about? It is a campaign started by a woman named Lina Esco who believes that the American government should not censor women's nipples but rather focus on censoring violence. As an actress who starred opposite Jessica Biel in the 2005 movie "London" Lisa made her first feature film, "Free The Nipple," which is based on a true story of two women who start a revolution to reverse the backwards censorship laws in America.
"Of course, a man wearing a bra will get more stares than a woman wearing a bra (thank you, Madonna) and a woman going bare-breasted will draw more stares than a man doing the same, but why? Why is a woman's nipple so controversial? I decided to tackle this subject with my new film -- Free the Nipple," wrote Lisa in a column at Huffington Post.
For Esco, there would not have been a better way to spread awareness about her movie than rope in a famous artist to support the cause. Esco's "Free The Nipple" has a supporter in the form of Miley Cyrus who recently took to Twitter to post a picture of her twin assets covered strategically by clipart in a holiday spirit.
"Merry Christmas, THANK YOU NY for being one of the few states to @freethenipple," wrote Miley on her Twitter page as she posted the topless photo. "Free the Nipple" documentary is set to release in January 2014. Check out the You Tube clip below.
