Tip 1: Place Torches on Furnaces and Crafting Table
A transparent block is needed behind your furnace/crafting table before you can place torches. If there are any solid blocks around the crafting bench or furnace, remove them as well or the torches will gravitate towards them instead on the top of crafting bench or furnace. Right-click with the torch in your hand and target the transparent block's edge to place it.
Tip 2: Place Blocks on the Side of a Torch
Right-click on the side of the torch grid box with a block on your hand and it will place the block to the side of the torch. This is very useful for crossing lava pools and saving your resources.
Tip 3: Place Torches under Falling Gravel or Sand
You can break the sand or gravel by holding a torch on your hand and aim it to the bottom level of the block. Place the torch quickly as the sand block breaks away.
Tip 4: Torches Hold any Amount of Weight
Torches can carry any amount of weight and it will allow you to create a sandstone-free pyramid and other fun designs.
Tip 5: Stack Signs on Top of Each Other
For awesome detailing of your builds, you can stack up signs on top of each other and line them up. Use the grids provided by signs and treat them as though any other block in Minecraft.
Tip 6: Wooden Slabs are Immune to Fire
Fire cannot harm wooden slabs and basically resistant against strong blasts compared to wooden planks. This is very useful if you are playing on a server which fire-spread is enabled.
Tip 7: Redstone Travels Through Half-slabs
If you want to hide your redstone effective, use them through half-slabs. Redstone passes through half-slabs and it does not require to be connected to the front.
Tip 8: Use Pressure Plates for Liquids
If you need to hold lava and water to keep them at bay, use pressure plates. These things hold both lava and water without spilling them over.
Tip 9: Stop Water and Lava
Signs and ladders have uses against lava and water. Place them according to stop lava and water flow and greatly used for mob spawners and secret underwater rooms.
Tip 10: Ice vs. Soul Sand
Soul sand can slow you down but using ice is far more effective.
Tip 11: The Smallest Block
The game registers the Soul Sand as the smallest block than any other in Minecraft. Using both ice and soul sand can create ingenious and awesome traps.
Tip 12: Bow and Arrow
Use the bow and arrow to break boats and minecarts with the same drops as breaking the boat normally.
Tip 13: Items on Ice Blocks
For items to flow incredibly fast, throw them into flowing water with ice blocks under it. Items atop ice blocks move very quickly than water flow alone.
Tip 14: Crouching
Players' names are hidden if they are crouching and can be seen normally if standing. Another element can also block names of players in Minecraft on the next tip.
Tip 15: Names Behind Chests and Signs
When players are behind a wall or underground without crouching which can be down by holding the shift key, their names are exposed. But if there is a wall or chest or sign blocking the player, the name is not revealed even if standing.

A player that is in a minecart on a rail line can ride directly through 1-block wall which can be used to trick other players on your rollercoaster or simple for traps.
Tip 17: The Lava Bucket and Blazing Rod
Use a lava bucket to fuel a furnace for up to 1,000 seconds and cook for 1,000 items in a furnace. A blazing rod can fuel a furnace for 120 seconds and can cook 12 items in a furnace as well.
Tip 18: Fuel Up
Furnace can be fuelled by almost any item made of wood such as saplings, jukeboxes, bookshelves, fences, trapdoors and chests.
Tip 19: Regular Fences and the Nether Fences
Both the regular and nether fences do not connect to each other. Using both to create builds will result to something fresh and unique.
Tip 20: Sticky Pistons
Sticky pistons which are powered with a single tick will push blocks instead of holding onto them.
Tip 21: The Survival Mode
If you are in survival mode, use swords to break melons and cacti quickly. Use axes to break pumpkins instead of swords.
