Megan Young created history to become the first Filipina to bring home the Miss World 2013 crown this year and now all eyes are on the Miss Philippines Ariella Arida to bring home the second crown of Miss Universe 2013. And why should she not, we ask, as her chances are bright too. Let's see how..

Selected for the Mercedes Benz Commercial - Only six girls were selected for the Mercedes Benz television commercial and Miss Philippines is one of them, making her the current favourite not only in her own country Philippines but also giving her a global exposure. Other beauties selected for the advert are Miss Austria Doris Hofmann, Miss Germany Anne-Julia Hagen, Miss Mexico Cynthia Duque, Miss Poland Paulina Krupinska and Miss Russia Elmira Abdrazakova. The television advertisement will start showing in the Russian airways after the Miss Universe pageant until the end of the year.

2. Selected for the Banner on the Miss Universe Website - Miss Philippines Ariella Arida is one of the four girls in the current banner on the Miss Universe Website. You can check it on missuniverse.com. This does make her a favourite among the organizers for sure.

3. Only Asian contestant to be selected for television advert - The 24-year-old Filipina beauty is the only Asian to be selected for the Mercedes Benz television advert. Though it is only a small advert but will give great exposure for Arida.

4. Beauty with Brains - She is not your girl next door but a graduate with honors from the University of the Philippines with a degree in hold your breath - chemistry. The Filipina beauty aspires to become an entrepreneur and hopes to combine her love of chemistry and research to create her own line of perfumes.

5. Great Fan Following and Support - Since Philippines is already high on the success of Miss World 2013, Megan Young, they are all standing up, pitching in for the support of next Filipina Arida. The constant support from all her fans, well wishers - combined with her own hard work and dedication can get her to the top. Expectations are high from Arida and she would try and give her best for the competition.
