The Moto G (2014) is one of the popular midrange smartphones at present. Rumors have it that it will be soon succeeded by the third generation model. Mlais is a lesser known Chinese startup; however, by releasing high-end smartphones such as the M4 Note phablet at lower prices, it is aiming to threaten popular smartphones. Here is the comparison between the Moto G (Gen 2) and M4 Note to see whether the latter can pose any serious threat to the Motorola device.

Design And Display

The Motorola Moto G (2014) has a thickness of 11 mm and it measures 141.5 x 70.7 mm. The Mlais M4 Note has a thickness of 8.4 mm and it measures 150 x 76 mm. Both the handsets are available in colors like black and white.

The Moto G (Gen 2) comes with 5 inches IPS LCD display that supports HD resolution. The Mlais M4 Note also supports HD resolution on a larger screen of 5.5 inches.

Processor, RAM And Storage

The Snapdragon 400 chip on the Moto G (Gen 2) housing a quad-core processor produces a clocking speed of 1.2 GHz. The chipset is accompanied by 1 GB of RAM. The internal storage of the device is 8 GB.

On the other hand, the M4 Note features a MediaTek MT6732 SoC. It also features a quad-core processor gunning at 1.4 GHz. Mlais has included 2 GB of RAM in the device. The native storage provided on M4 Note is 16 GB.

Software And Camera

Both the handsets come preinstalled with Android 5.0 Lollipop. Rumors are rife that the Moto G (2014) will be soon updated to Android 5.1 Lollipop.

The Moto G (2014) features an 8 MP camera along with LED flash on its rear. On the front, there is a camera of 2 MP. The Mlais M4 Note is blessed with a 13 MP rear shooter and a selfie camera of 8 MP with support for 88 degrees wide angle shooting.

Connectivity, Battery And Pricing

The Moto G (2014) does not support LTE. It is a dual-SIM device that supports web connectivity through 3G and Wi-Fi. The Mlais M4 Note offers connectivity through 4G LTE, 3G and Wi-Fi. The USB OTG feature that is available on M4 Note is absent on Moto G (Gen 2).

The Motorola handset comes with a battery of 2,070 mAh capacity whereas the Mlais product is packed with a bigger 2,400 mAh battery. The unlocked Moto G (2014) is priced at $174.99 on Amazon whereas the Mlais M4 Note carries a cheaper price tag of $129 on Gear Best.
