Formerly know as “Mevius Final Fantasy,” the upcoming mobile RPG “Mobius Final Fantasy” had actually faced some fairly minor controversy. It has been revealed that lead character Wal had actually been wearing less clothing before the developers decided to fix his outfit for reportedly being “too sexy” and the possibility that the suit in question looked a bit ridiculous.

The original suit, which has been previewed by Kotaku, featured two long cuts in the outfit that revealed the side of the lead’s buttocks along with the side of his detailed abs. While previous “Final Fantasy” protagonists have always been made to look fairly attractive, perhaps the developers realized that the suit was a bit too much.

It has also been revealed that the suit was going to be one of the first costumes that Wal wears in one of his first jobs in the game. When the game starts, Wal has amnesia, but soon decided to become the protector of Paramitia, while also taking on a number of jobs and character classes. The controversial suit was revealed to be part of the Onion Swordsman, which could be related to the Onion Knight from previous “Final Fantasy” games.

That being said, Polygon reports that the developers have now decided to poke fun at the sexiness and ridiculousness of the previous outfit during a Japanese presentation of the game. It was also reported that a presenter covered her eyes and mouth when the outfit was revealed in the presentation.

Aside from poking fun at the original outfit, the presentation also showed off more gameplay for the upcoming mobile title. “Mobius Final Fantasy” has a number of veterans from the previous “Final Fantasy” involved in the project, including longtime series producer Yoshinori Kitase, who has directed and produced various games in the “Final Fantasy” series for the past 20 years.

“Mobius Final Fantasy” is set for a spring 2015 release date for iOS and Android devices in Japan, though no plans have been revealed if a Western release is in the works. That being said, a teaser site for the game has recently emerged and is completely in English, so this could be a hint that it’s coming to Western shores.
