Motorola is now rumoured to be working on the third generation model of Moto E. The specifications of two variants of the alleged entry-level phone have been spotted on GFXBench.

On GFXBench benchmarking site, Motorola devices with model numbers of XT1706 and X1700 have been spotted. Motorola is now a Lenovo owned firm, but the alleged devices seem to be Motorola devices as it usually uses model numbers that includes “XT” along with four-digit number, Phone Arena reported.

The rumoured Moto E (Gen 3) with model number XT1700 features a 5-inch screen that carries support for a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. Unlike Moto E (Gen 2), it does not feature a Snapdragon chipset. It is expected to be powered by MediaTek MT6735 SoC that includes a 1 GHz quad-core processor and Mali-T720 GPU. The SoC is accompanied by 2 GB of RAM.

The native storage of the alleged Moto E (Gen 3) is 16 GB. There is no information available on the expansion storage of the device. For photography, it will carry an 8 MP camera on its rear panel and a front-facing shooter of 5 MP.

The other Moto E (Gen 3) smartphone with model number XT1706 also features the same specs. Both the handsets will deliver Android 6.0 Marshmallow experience. The battery capacity of both the devices are not known yet.

Motorola had released the Moto E (Gen 2) in February last year. Since it has been over a year after its release, the rumour mill is speculating that the Moto E (Gen 3) will be released soon.

Moto E (Gen 2) is fitted with a 4.5-inch display that offers a screen resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. It is powered by Snapdragon 410 chipset that features a 1.2 GHz quad-core CPU and Adreno 306 GPU. It is supported by 1 GB of RAM.

The internal storage of Moto E (Gen 2) is 8 GB. It has a rear camera of 5 MP and its front-facing camera is 0.3 MP. It features a decent battery of 2390 mAh capacity.
