Mumbai Extras Were Paid $3 Each To Act As Tom Cruise's Fans?
You may find this surprising but yes, this is true. It seems that Tom Cruise is not at all that popular in other parts of the planet especially in India.
It was reported that a model coordinator hired hundreds of people for $3 each just to cheer and scream for the arrival of the actor at the Mumbai airport.
According to a report made by Firstpost Bollywood, a lot of fans who gathered round the airport were not even aware of who Tom Cruise was and they were only there for the promised fee and free lunch buffet.
In fact, one of the paid fans even asked, "Tom Kaun?" and told the newspaper this statement - "I don't know who he is or what he does."
"None of us know who Tom is. There was a buffet lunch also for us and we were paid (150 rupees) for this job today. We do this for television shows and other such events where crowds are required," the hired fan added.
The star was in Mumbai to promote the latest instalment of his popular film 'Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.'
