“Neighbours” posted a sneak peek of Monday’s episode on its Facebook page. In the clip, Toadie lashes out at Steph over her issues with Mark. “To be honest, Steph, I think you’re copping out on the whole situation,” Toadie says. “Are you really going to leave Sonya literally holding the baby?” Steph replies that she’s just trying to make the right decision for everyone in the long run.

Toadie doesn’t buy her excuse, saying that she ended her engagement because Mark has been spending extra time with Sonya. “If Mark and I break up, don’t worry, you and Sonya are not going to have to step up as the full-time parents,” Steph assures Toadie. This further riles him up, ordering her to deal with her issues with Mark. “That is what commitment is about,” Toadie reminds her. “Sonya is having a baby for you. You can’t let that baby down!”

Digital Spy reports that Steph’s issues with Mark may be beyond the surrogacy – she’s feeling torn between Mark and Victoria. While she still loves him and doesn’t want to break up, she can’t deny the attraction that she’s feeling toward the doctor. Meanwhile, Sonya continues to struggle with Dee’s presence, especially now that the situation got more complicated with the Willow bombshell. As if their problems are not enough, Sonya and Toadie would be welcoming another surprise when a mystery visitor appears at Dee’s doorstep.

“Neighbours” recap

Last week, Steph informed Sonya and Toadie that she broke off her engagement with Mark. She clarified that they haven’t split, but they need to figure things out first. As Sonya and Toadie tried to wrap their heads around Steph’s shocking announcement, Mark was absolutely gutted with his girlfriend’s decision. Later, the couple got even more surprised when Steph blurted out that she feels Mark is prioritising Sonya over her.

An argument ensued between the two women until Mark arrived, claiming that he’ll take care of the baby, even as a single dad. When Mark had a moment with Steph alone, he apologised for jumping the gun about the baby. She reckoned it’s not a bad idea, considering things are looking bleak between them. She expressed again how she feels sidelined with the whole process. Mark assured her that it would be different once the baby’s there, but Steph was skeptical – she said there’s a possibility he would be closer to Sonya than ever and that she won’t be able to feel a connection with the child. Mark gave her back the engagement ring and asked her to hold on to it, as a reminder of their love.

Meanwhile, Dee and Willow talked about their ongoing deception. Dee promised her daughter that once they get the money, things will change for the better for both of them. Later, they spent time bonding with Toadie at The Waterhole. Sonya joined them but things soon got awkward, so she told Toadie to take Dee and Willow back to the Robinson’s while she settles the bill. At the motel, Willow told her mum that she feels bad about lying to Toadie. Dee reminded her why they’re doing it – they needed the money for her school and to live a comfortable life.

Elsewhere, Tyler and Piper were feeling the harsh reality of living on their own, especially in terms of money. Desperate for some financial leeway, Piper reluctantly agreed to ask her parents for help. She went to The Waterhole to talk to Terese, hoping her mum could give her money for school stuff. Terese said she’s willing to do it, as long as Piper moves back in her house. Piper refused and walked off. Later at school, Brad appealed to Piper to go home. However, when he can’t commit to allowing her and Tyler continue their relationship, Piper stood by her decision.
