“Neighbours” recap

Last week, Madison was floored to see Amy’s image as Anika, a sexy maid. When Paul checked in on his niece’s scoop, Madison became suspicious that he knew something about the girls who worked them but he denied it. Later, she met Aaron at Lassiters and they talked about her story. Aaron discouraged her from pursuing her article, saying that she could hurt some good people. Madison then showed him a photo of Amy in Ryan’s web site, and he was alarmed.

When Madison tried to kill her story on the cleaning ladies, her editor didn’t approve and fired her on the spot. Despite this disheartening news, Madison was determined to do the right thing. She came up to Ryan and introduced her as Amy’s cousin. She informed him about his shady business and asked him to take down his site and wipe everything off. Ryan agreed and thanked her for the heads-up.

At Terese’s home, Madison was crying for being let go from the local newspaper. Terese comforted her and assured her that she did the right thing. What’s more, she offered Madison a new job as her assistant. When Terese shared this news with Paul and Amy, Paul was disappointed to hear about Madison being fired. However, he accepted it as long as Madison’s happy.

At Lassiters, Ryan and Terese shared a moment and he felt like there was some kind of tension between them. He invited Terese over for drinks and showered her compliments. Meanwhile, Piper started to feel guilty for lying about Tyler especially when her mum generously offered to take her shopping for formal dresses and for heaping praises on her for deciding to go solo. However, upon talking to Xanthe, Piper decided to use their shopping time to bond with her mum and tell her about Tyler going to the school dance. Piper also shared with Xanthe that she’s planning to go all the way after the formal. Later at home, taking advantage of her mum’s good mood, she decided to reveal that Tyler’s going with her, but only as a friend. Terese was adamant and didn’t give her permission. Piper then laid out an ultimatum: it’s either she goes to the formal with Tyler or she doesn’t go at all, but Terese didn’t budge.

Elsewhere, Matt was taken aback when he saw Steph’s ex at Harold’s. He wasted no time and told Steph that he spotted Belinda. Steph said she had no idea that Belinda was in town. Mark couldn’t believe that Steph’s ex won’t give her a heads-up about her plans to go to Erinsborough. Later, Belinda was seen talking to Toadie about her appeal to get her nursing registration back. While she appreciated his efforts, she wondered why he was doing it. Toadie said she has an anonymous benefactor – someone has agreed to pay all her legal costs. When Belinda asked how Steph was doing, Toadie said she’s doing well and is actually seeing a nice guy. Belinda was stunned with what she heard – her ex is dating a man.

Later, Belinda showed up at the Rebecchi’s door to surprise Steph. As the two talked, Steph confirmed that she has a boyfriend now, who told her Belinda’s in town. Belinda, on the other hand, said she’s not seeing anyone right now and she’s getting used to the idea of being single. Belinda also learned that Charlie is now with Steph, and she’s over the moon about it. Belinda said she’s really happy for Steph, but it looked like she’s on the verge of crying. At the Waterhole, Paul revealed to Belinda that he’s her benefactor. It’s not actually for Belinda, however – Paul wanted to make up for what he did to Steph. He also wanted Belinda to break up Steph and Mark.
