‘Neighbours' spoilers for June 13: John thinks he caused the explosion; Sonya discovers she has a dying half-sister who needs her help to live
Ramsay Street residents are in for another surprising series of bombshells on the upcoming runs of “Neighbours.” On Monday, John Doe (Andrew Morley) reveals to Paige Smith (Olympia Valance) that he’s the one to blame for the Lassiter explosion. Fans wonder what this means to their budding romance, and whether it would help free Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis), who’s languishing in jail.
Meanwhile, Sonya Rebecchi (Eve Morey) finds out the real reason why Walter Mitchell (Greg Stone) reached out to her. It turns out she has a half-sister who needs to have a bone marrow transplant, and she could be an eligible donor. Other “Neighbours” cast members who will also appear on the June 13 episode include Jarrod “Toadie” Rebecchi (Ryan Moloney), Piper Willis (Mavournee Hazel), Tyler Brennan (Travis Burns), Brad Willis (Kap Gamblin), Lauren Turner (Kate Kendall), Ned Willis (Ben Hall), Stephanie Scully (Carla Bonner), Amy Williams (Zoe Cramond), Jimmy Williams (Darcy Tadich), Angus Beaumont (Jai Waetford), Ben Ian Kirk (Felix Mallard), Mark Brennan (Scott McGregor), Sheila Canning (Colette Mann), Aaron Brennan (Matt Wilson), Xanthe Canning (Lilly Van Der Mer), Susan Kennedy (Jackie Woodburne) and Karl Kennedy (Alan Fletcher).

Channel Eleven posted a sneak peek for Monday’s episode. In the preview video, Paige tells John that she’s trying to help him, but she can’t do that if he lies to her. “You know nothing about me, or what I’m capable of,” John replies before walking off. Digital Spy reports that Paige finds out John didn’t actually talk to the woman from Braun & Bell as he said. After brushing Paige off, John feels bad and apologises to her. He also reveals to her what’s bothering him – he thinks he’s the one responsible for the Lassiter explosion.
Lauren figures in another scene as she nurses Ned’s injuries. She berates him for staring at her. Ned says he can’t help how he feels. Tyler walks in on Lauren and Ned as it looks like they’re having a moment. Digital Spy spoilers say that Ned will tell Tyler about their kiss, and when Lauren finds out, she lashes at Ned about it. Piper will overhear their argument.
The trailer also shows Sonya as she shares her discovery with Toadie. “I’m just starting to think that maybe your first instincts are right about him,” she says. “It’s about time he comes clean,” he tells her. According to Digital Spy, Roxanne is Walter’s ex-wife. They have a 14-year-old daughter, who turns out to be Sonya’s half-sister. The girl, named Zoe, apparently suffers from leukaemia and needs a bone marrow transplant. This is the real reason why Walter went to look for Sonya – she can help Zoe live.
“Neighbours” recap
Last week, Steph was finding it difficult to handle the motel’s operations alone. She vented her frustrations on Mark, since he had a hand on Paul’s imprisonment. They argue, but stopped when Charlie arrived. Steph struggled between balancing work and spending time with Charlie. Amy came into the rescue and said he can spend time with Jimmy, who could use some distraction to take his mind off Paul. Elated, Steph called Mark for a hot and heavy kiss-and-makeup session. Later, the two sorted out their differences and Mark reassured Steffy he understands her situation. In return, Steph promised to strike a balance among Charlie, Mark and the motel.
Sonya welcomed Walter to her home, but had to rush off to work. She was about to bring Nell to daycare, but Walter volunteered to babysit. While reluctant at first, Sonya gave in. When she bumped into Susan and Sheila, the two ladies offered to check in on Walter and Nell. They did exactly that, and walked in as Walter was dressed up as a fairy as he plays with Nell. Susan gushed that Walter’s a natural with kids, and the two ladies joined in. They sent a selfie to Sonya to reassure her that everything’s going well.
When Sonya returned, she was glad to find out that Nell was already fed, bathed and tucked into bed. He excused himself to clean up, and Sonya went to try the congee he cooked. On the way, she knocked off his phone and when she picked it up, she accidentally read a message from Roxanne asking if he had told Sonya because they don’t have much time. Sonya was completely taken aback – it seems that Walter is not done keeping secrets from her.
Elsewhere, John failed again to catch the mystery woman that triggered his memory. He saw the logo of the van, but forgot the company name. With the help of Tyler, Paige reviewed the CCTV footage that captured the van. She could only see the logo as the company name was too small. She didn’t give up, however, and did an online search of the logo. She found out that the company is Braun & Bell, an engineering firm. John expressed his appreciation for Paige’s efforts and wasted no time going to Braun & Bell. He was in for another disappointment, however, when the person he talked to didn’t recognise him as an employee. However, he informed John that they have a franchise office, and let him in to the services that they do. John was bothered when he heard that the company also builds and maintains boilers. Later, when he went to visit Paige at the café, he had flashbacks of boilers which are about to explode. He thanked Paige for her help once again and left. Outside, John was clearly bothered by the memory he just had.
