New 'Call of Duty' 2014 Screen Teased and Chaos Mode for 'Ghosts' Arrives with Update
While "Call of Duty: Ghosts" has received mixed reactions and thoughts from fans of the franchise, Sledgehammer Games, the studio that will be in charge of the "COD" game for 2014, aims to change the public's mind—or at least put next-gen graphics at the top-of-mind for gamers.
A screenshot has been teased for the upcoming "COD" game. Given that it's a next-gen first game, meaning it is tailored to make use of the graphics and power of next-gen consoles PS4 and Xbox One, the realistic appeal of the screenshot does give a more realistic feel to the characters in the game.
IGN has created a video of the first image revealed. According to the report, Sledgehammer Games has confirmed that the screenshot is an in-game character model.
Admittedly, the character detail is superb, perhaps a homage to the way the developer has previously announced that this will be the "most ambitious" and "most creative" game that they have made.
MP1st reports that back at the GDC panel, the developer did not only reveal its thrust for the game but also the fact that eSports and the competitive scene of shooter games are something that they are looking at.
It would be interesting to see how Sledgehammer Games will treat the franchise. Yearly released games like "Call of Duty" have been put into a not-so-bright spotlight, particularly because fans are starting to think that developers are merely milking the franchise instead of bringing something new to the table.
The big change could come this time, when the next-gen power is still yet to be utilised and exploited for fans' satisfaction. Calling the "Call of Duty" 2014 game to be the most creative one is certainly a promise that brings expectations. Hopefully, Sledgehammer Games will not disappoint.
As far as confirmed details of the "Call of Duty" 2014 game goes, the title and release date are yet to be announced.
New Mode Comes for 'COD: Ghosts' After Title Update
A neat surprise is waiting for those who are still playing "Call of Duty: Ghosts" as the developer has included the Chaos Mode for the Extinction game type.
Videogamer reports that the Chaos Mode was first seen in "Modern Warfare 3," as gamers can access the Casual and Hardcore Extinction types. The update actually has a number of fixes for the game. The Extinction game will be more stable from now on given the update.
As far as the changelog is concerned, weapon balance was also tackled by the developer, while anti-cheat measures have also been fixed and improved. The Chaos Mode is available for Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game.
