New Dual-SIM Lumia Smartphone With qHD Display Spotted AT FCC
After the arrival of the selfie-centric Lumia 730 and Lumia 830, Nokia by Microsoft is gearing for yet another Lumia smartphone. According to WMPoweruser, a new Lumia smartphone was spotted reaching the FCC with a model number of RM-1090/RM-1091.
PhoneArena claims that the handset with RM-1090 model number was also spotted in the logs of an ad network company for mobile, AdDuplex in China and Taiwan. GSMArena feels that these countries may not be the target audience for the unannounced Lumia device but would rather serve as testing locations.
According to AdDuplex, the handset supports a display resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. PhoneArena further states that the handset would probably feature a 5-inch display screen to support the qHD resolution and it would also support a pixel density of about 220 ppi. If this Lumia device comes out with qHD display, it would be very first attempt from Nokia by Microsoft to manufacture a Lumia smartphone with 540 x 960 pixels because all the previous Lumia models featured HD resolution (720 x 1280 pixels) or full HD resolution (1080 x 1920 pixels).
WMPoweruser states that the size of the new Lumia device is quite similar to that of Lumia 830. The leaked information from FCC reveals the measurement of the device as 139 x 71.1 mm. The Lumia 830 measures 139.4 x 70.7 mm. It also states that the handset supports two SIM cards.
GSMArena states that the handset supports GSM and 3G connectivity along with HSPA. As of now, there is no information on whether the handset will support 4G LTE connectivity. Just like any other midrange device, the purported Lumia device will come with host of connectivity features like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth LE.
PhoneArena has also revealed that the handset will be powered by a new battery with a model number BL-L4A. The FCC documents that have surfaced has come from Beijing based Microsoft and not through Redmond based Microsoft.
WMPoweruser is considering the rumoured device as the successor model for Lumia 1020. Currently, Microsoft is in the process of launching the recently launched Lumia 730 and Lumia 830 in different parts of the world.
