The battle for a larger share of the smartphone and tablet market intensifies as three new devices are set for roll out soon.

Slashgear reports that the Taiwanese tech firm HTC will release soon the HTC Mini. Leaked photos that came out on the Web site said the name HTC Desire 200 was attached to the smartphone.

The device will likely have a lower price based on its low resolution display and slightly older version of Android OS.

The upcoming device will have a 1GHz single-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, removable 1,400mAh battery and a microSD card slot for memory expansion. Unlike the premium HTC One made of aluminium, its casing is made of plastic.

The HTC Desire 200 features a 3.5-inch 320 x 480 pixel resolution display and while it will sport the Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, since its release is timed with Android 4.1+ appearing on the market, owners of this model could expect some Jelly Bean updates.

Meanwhile, Samsung - despite analysts' forecast of lower sales for the Galaxy S4 - is determined not to lose its hold on the smartphone crown by launching the S4 Advanced which is capable of connecting to the Internet via LTE Advanced 4G technology.

With 4G connectivity, a movie download that takes 3 minutes on current LTE connection would take only a little over 1 minute, said Samsung Electronics CEO JK Shin.

The device, which used a Qualcomm chip, will be rolled out in the later part of June in South Korea. It will later launch in the international market where the LTE Advanced 4G technology is available, which means the US would not have this model yet on store shelves.

Lastly, CNET reported that the Google next-generation Nexus 7 may soon be available. Quoting market researcher IHS, CNET said that Japan Display and AUO are expected to manufacture the display for the next-gen Nexus 7, but the tablet would be made by Quanta.

Ricky Park, IHS head for research for TV, tablet, monitor and notebooks display, said production of the screen by JDI and AUO would begin in June and July, which means the roll out of the Nexus 7 next-gen would not be too far since the first-gen was announced in July 2012.

The next-gen is expected to feature a 1,920 x 1,200 screen with a pixel density of 323 ppi.
