New limited TV series about Falcon and Winter Soldier
A new TV series is reportedly being planned with Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier) and Anthony Mackie (Falcon) reprising their respective roles as superheroes. Malcolm Spellman has been selected to write the script for the limited series.
According to a report by Variety, the limited series with Spellman as the writer is currently in development. Spellman is known for writing the script for the popular “Empire” TV series. Marvel and Disney haven’t commented on the reports yet.
Multiple limited series about Marvel superheroes have been planned for Disney’s streaming service. The other announced series involves Tom Hiddleston (Loki) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) reprising their roles.
Among the limited series that have been planned by Disney, the first one to be produced quickly appears to be about Falcon and the Winter Soldier. With the writer in place, it remains to be seen just how quickly the script will be ready and when the actual production will start.
The Winter Soldier and Falcon were foes who eventually turned into allies and friends. They both have appeared in multiple Marvel movies, the most recent being the “Infinity War,” in which they were turned into dust by Thanos (Josh Brolin).
The limited series about Winter Soldier and Falcon may be six to eight episodes long, which is the length of the Loki and Scarlet Witch series. More details may be revealed in the official announcement by Disney and Marvel when it’s made.
With the superheroes turned into cosmic dust, it will be interesting to see if the limited series will be a prequel or if it will be set after the events in “Infinity War.” If it is set in the future, the fans may get some clues about what can be expected in the upcoming “Avengers 4” movie.
There is no information yet about when the limited series will air.
