The buzz pointing to fresh Galaxy S4 versions floated this week, further Samsung's underway effort of unleashing a smartphone juggernaut to overwhelm its rivals, the Apple chief among them.

In what appeared as leaked photos of the GS4 Active's final make, the more durable 1080p handset announced earlier by Samsung was shown with a red casing at the back and a massive front screen that radically deviates with the design seen in the original version.

Published by GSM Arena, the photos show off physical keys for the GS4's Home, Back and Menu - all sitting in a rubberised panel that juts a little below the phone's front screen that earlier reports said is 4.3-inch in size.

The device draws its might from a quad-core Snapdragon CPU with a top-speed of 1.9GHz. It also boasts a pixel density of 480ppi and a main camera shooter with an 8MP sensor.

One stark indicator that the GS4 Active is able to withstand liquid and other element intrusions is the notable presence of screws that secure the back cover, underscoring the statement that the device is truly a beast to reckon with.

Yet in a surprising twist, Samsung teamed up with Gold Genie to come up with a designer make of the GS4, according to reports by Gotta Be Mobile.

This luxurious GS4 build retails with expensive metal plating, specifically in gold and platinum. Buyers willing to own this handset will have to shell out $US2200 then they can take home the device with a Luxury Cherry Oak Finished Box for safekeeping.

The specs to get from the jewelled GS4 are pretty much the same with the original edition. The only difference is the additional prestige.

The last of the GS4 makes come in the form of a Galaxy S4 Mega, which according to SamMobile was inadvertently revealed with the recent update notes for Samsung's WatchON TV app.

In the latest update of the application, the developer claimed that the latest patch was designed to fully support upcoming GS4 variants like the Mini, the Active and the GS4 Mega.

Aside, however, from this clue no other details about the GS4 Mega were offered. Note that Samsung is releasing two mid-range phablet variants called the Galaxy Mega but it remains unclear if the device models are connected to the GS4 Mega.
