Next 'Titanfall 2' free DLC release date revealed

Respawn has announced that "Titanfall 2" fans will be able to pick up the Colony Reborn DLC update for free on March 30. The DLC will include a patch containing a slew of bug fixes and gameplay improvements.

The update will include a remaster of the original game map, the versatile R-101 weapon, Curb Check execution, paid cosmetic content, and more. Paid content will include Prime Titan skins, new nose art, and camouflage textures, to name a few.

Next weeks' free content will be complimentary for all "Titanfall 2" owners. Here's everything we know about the features:

New Map: Colony - This is a rehash veteran "Titanfall" players are going to be familiar with. The map is set among a sleepy settler town, the dense center is filled with narrow streets, interiors, and rooftops surrounded by open Titan lanes.

Weapon: R-101 - Unique and versatile, the R-101 platform has been a mainstay weapon since the first settlers arrived from the Core Systems. This new iteration comes with an ACOG scope.

New execution: The Curb Check is going to be live.

PAID COSMETIC CONTENT – Players can outfit their pilot, weapons, Titans, banners, and patches with these new cosmetics.

• Prime Titans: Northstar and Legion
• Titan Art Nose Art: 5 new designs and 1 new Warpaint per Titan
• Camo pack: 20 camos
• Callsign pack: 20 banners and 20 patches

FEATURED PLAYLIST: To celebrate the return of Colony the Featured Playlist for that weekend will be Colony 24/7 and will support a variety of modes.

PATCH: A new patch with bug fixes, balancing, and game improvements. The full patch notes will follow and will be released ahead of the launch.

DOUBLE XP: From March 30 to April 3, Double XP will run for all modes in Titanfall 2.

'Titanfall 2' free trial weekend

Supplementing the upcoming DLC, Respawn is holding a free trial weekend. The event starts March 30 and will run until April 3. The trial features full multiplayer gameplay for the Training Gauntlet and the single player Beacon mission. After April 3, the Training Gauntlet and The Beacon will remain free to play in perpetuity.

GameSpot noted that last month, "Titanfall 2" released a DLC that added two bonus maps and the new Live Fire game mode. Following the Colony free content, more updates will be given, but details have not been revealed.
