Nexus 4 and Nexus 10, both Google devices, will be available starting Nov. 13 at $299 and $399 base prices, respectively. The former is a smartphone, the latter, a tablet. Which of the two latest Google gadgets is more impressive?

LG Nexus 4 vs iPhone 5

Pitted against Apple and its iPhone 5, Google can stand proud with its LG-built Nexus 4.

Nexus 4 boasts of a bigger 4.7-inch 1280 x 768 IPS display. Its 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor is the fastest on the market today, according to Google.

Like the iPhone 5, Nexus 4 also has a built-in 8 megapixel camera and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera (1.2MP on iPhone 5) for video calls. You can store up to 16GB of files in its internal memory.

Phone buyers who make decisions based on staying power would be pleased to know the Nexus 4 promises a long battery life. The battle is between Apple's standard battery, Li-Po 1440 mAh (5.45 Wh) versus LG's standard battery, Li-Po 2100mAh. Talk time with Nexus 4 should last 15 hours, as opposed to 8 hours with iPhone 5.

Nexus 10 vs 'All other tablets'

Google is getting a lot of positive feedback for its Nexus 10, this early. The first thing you'll notice on the Samsung-built tablet is the crisp screen display.

"(I)n our short time with the tablet we found it to be on par with the iPad's Retina display, with sharp text, excellent color fidelity, and great viewing angles," writes Dieter Bohn of theverge.com.

"Google undoubtedly upset the tablet market almost overnight with the Nexus 10," writes Jon Fingas of engadget.com.

"A big plus for the Nexus 10 is that the screen is 16:9, so there's no black bars around movies and TV shows and they fill the screen completely," writes Rich Trenholm of CNet UK.

As much as the Nexus 10 display sparks rave reviews, its WiFi-only connectivity can be a bummer. Then again, WiFi is becoming more ubiquitous than ever, so some buyers probably will not mind.

Both the Nexus 4 and the Nexus 10 will be reviewed further by tech bloggers and reporters once it is out in the market. For now, the specs and features will have to speak for themselves.

Early reviews considered, both new devices from Google seem to be smartly poised to give the competition a serious challenge. Which gadget is more impressive for you?
