The Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update started rolling out for Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 devices all over the globe earlier this week. Although the roll out is still on going, it is never too early to set expectations for what is going to happen after the roll out is complete.

Specifics from Google

Nexus users remain struggling on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and older version operating systems as manifested by a number of complaints from product forums in the Internet. As such, we expect to see a couple of bug fixes at some point. However, prompt updates according to Gotta Be Mobile is unlikely.

At this point, we don't know if and when Google will release its Android 4.4.3 KitKat update. What we expect however, is Google will do it without warning as it always does. We might see the tech giant detail a number of things on the day of the roll out itself but that would be the most - nothing more, nothing less. In fact, previous OS updates from Google came from Web site analytics and not from Google per se.

Whereas Google is unlikely to delve into specific details like the release date, inclusions and the like, we expect the company not to stay completely silent about it.

Update Leaks for Nexus Devices

Essentially, Android OS updates leak ahead of time, but these leaks usually come from other companies and not from Google itself. For Nexus devices, the updates are pretty silent as there are no third party companies to do the leaks. As such, we should expect that there will be no leaks about the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update on Nexus devices ahead of its official release. Google is known to maintain a tight Iid particularly on its future updates. More often than not, these updates roll out without warning.

The aforementioned expectation is also applicable not only for incremental bug fixes, but for major OS updates that Google is cooking for next year as well. Currently, there is no reason to expect that changes will be made between the Android 4.4.2 KitKat and the next update.
