Veteran quarterback Peyton Manning is ready for another run in the National Football League, or NFL. And for the upcoming 2015 NFL Season, Manning is willing to take a pay cut for the team, which can use the extra salary cap created to find free agents in the offseason.

According to an ESPN report, Manning was set to earn $19 million for 2015 but his base salary for the new season will go down to $15 million. It is also stated in the article that Manning has already informed the Broncos of his readiness to play in the 2015 season after a workout and evaluation with trainer Mackie Shilstone.

Early in the 2015 offseason, Broncos officials like general manager John Elway and new head coach Gary Kubiak said that they want Manning back with the team. For his part, Manning said he’d first evaluate things and how he is physically before making a decision to play. Manning has underwent four neck surgeries since joining Denver in 2012.

"The bottom line is, we want him back, and it's going to come down to what he wants to do," Elway said back in January. The Denver GM will not only get his veteran QB back but also at a discount price.

Manning and the Broncos had a disappointing finish to the 2014-2015 season bowing out in the playoffs after losing to the Indianapolis Colts, 24-13 in the divisional round match-up. Manning also had a frustrating second half of the regular season when he struggled with various injuries.

The 38 year old Manning will be entering his 18th NFL season and his fourth season with the Broncos. He is a 14-time Pro Bowler and won the Super Bowl once and was named the championship game’s Most Valuable Player in 2007. It remains to be seen how Manning will play or be effective in the new offensive system of Kubiak, who replaced John Fox as the head coach after the failed postseason run.

In the 2014 regular season, Manning threw for 4,727 passing yards on 395 of 597 completions, or 66.2% completion rate with 39 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.
