Fans of Katherine Pierce (Nina Dobrev) had to sadly watch their favorite evil Petrova doppelganger exit the CW TV series "The Vampire Diaries" in Season 5, Episode 15 titled "Gone Girl." However, actress Nina Dobrev sounds glad that Katherine is gone after getting ready to finally say goodbye to the character.

Nina Dobrev revealed in the E!News report that she gets to sleep and do yoga more now that Katherine is gone. "I think she had to go eventually and I'm glad that she went in the most epic way possible... being sucked into hell. So it was cool. If you're going to close on a character like that, that was the way to do it. I think we did her justice and I'm happy about that, but it will be sad because that character [was] fun to play," the 25-year-old actress shared to the attendees at the "Vampire Diaries" PaleyFest panel.

When asked how much she will miss portraying Katherine Pierce, Ms Dobrev answered that it will not be as much as how she missed her bed before the Petrova doppelganger was gone. According to the Wet Paint report, it is now Nina's co-star Paul Wesley's turn to deal with having another doppelganger in the CW TV series.

In the upcoming Episode 17 titled "Rescue Me," fans will see Stefan's emergency team member double in Atlanta. However, the doppelganger may not stay around for a long time since the Travellers need only one doppelganger in accomplishing their plan.

As for Elena's relationship with Damon (Ian Somerhalder), executive producer Julie Plec also teased at the 2014 PaleyFest panel that the two characters will still have grown-up conversations about it after actor Ian Somerhalder revealed that Damon and Elena have difficulty in having a legit and grown-up talk because "they keep taking their pants off."

"We just want to try to play them as human as possible, in spite of their inhuman experience," Ms Plec explained. The E!Online TV Scoop report further revealed that the other things that fans can expect in the upcoming "The Vampire Diaries" Season 5 episodes include some goodness coming from Enzo (Michael Malarkey), quippy one-liners from Damon Salvatore and the return of some currently dead fan-favorite characters.

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 5 airs Thursday nights at 8 pm on the CW Network. Episode 17 "Rescue Me" is scheduled to air on March 27, 2014.
