Nintendo NX surprise feature, performance hinted at by CD Projekt Comm Manager, GameStop CEO
The absence of the Nintendo NX from the last E3 2016 has maintained its rather mysterious appeal as a new console. While there have been several speculation following sightings of patents from Nintendo, most of these have remained unconfirmed.
Now, there are some people in the industry that have been giving their two cents’ worth about the device. In particular, there are two industry personalities that have stepped forward. The first is GameStop CEO Paul Raines. According to Destructoid, Raines hinted that it will have a physical media and emphasised that the company will play a role in the new console.
Another source has stepped forward to give some thoughts about their experience with the Nintendo NX. According to VG 247, the Communications Manager for CD Projekt Red has hinted knowledge about Nintendo’s device.
Fabian Mario Doehla was quoted to say that the Nintendo NX will be a fantastic gaming console. It seems that this knowledge comes from having access to the hardware along with the developer. However, in a Twitter conversation spotted by WCCFTech, Doehla also stated that the stream also had jokes within it.
Of the things that were discussed in the stream, the only thing that Doehla had confirmed to be true was that the developers were excited. He may have been doing some damage control for being quoted on comments such as the Nintendo NX being very good, and how European developers took a while to react positively to Nintendo’s next gaming console.
While those are pretty much statements from various personalities, a new rumour sighted by Gamingbolt is one that needs to be taken with a bigger dose of skepticism. According to the report, the Nintendo NX should have had an earlier launch—as early as November of this year.
However, the reason for the delay was reportedly the lack of games with which the Nintendo NX can launch. It seems that two major third-party games were not available for an earlier launch. Additionally, the announcement of the PS4 Neo and Xbox One Scorpio has also caused the company to do some tweaks to the machine, because the closest that the console comes to in terms of hardware would be the PS4 Neo.
For now, best to take these with a grain of salt. Nintendo is expected to reveal some new information about the Nintendo NX sometime this year as it skipped the E3 2016 in lieu of an event later this year before the March 2017 launch.
