The first of supposedly many updates in Nintendo Wii U is here, the Wii U version 2.1.3, a 30MB update that improves the stability of the OS and brings bug fixes for crashes, such as in the Bit.Trip Runner 2 from Gaijin Games, reports Digital Trends.

To be fair, this is the first of two major updates, which were first announced at the start of the year. EndGadget reported before about two title updates-one in sprint and another in summer-to deal with the slow speed of the Wii U.

The second update is slated for April, which will bring users broad support for the virtual console. This allows gamers to access the Miiverse via phones, but there has yet to be announcements on which phones will be included in the list.

For those who have been dealing with the slow grind of the Wii U, the April update will also be bring a more optimized speed capacity for the console.

Game titles coming to Nintendo Wii U

The list of game titles for the Nintendo Wii U is growing longer, with the potential addition of the updated Deus Ex: Human Revolution looking to be part of the Wii U platform.

According to IGN, there is no official announcement of the port of the game, however it has already been rated by the Australian Ratings Board. The hint lies in the fact that Straight Right, an Australian studio, had already mentioned before that they were going to be porting a big title to the Wii U.

Dread Central also reports that Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will be coming to the Nintendo Wii U platform on March 19, in addition to a software update on April. This means an off-TV playing the Wii U Gamepad.

This update will be available in North America and Europe, who can now play up to four-player games online, while paying only for broadband Internet charges.

A game for NFC?

Wii U owners are familiar with the NFC or Near Field Communication, a distinctive function in the console that is similar to a wireless tech that can transport figurines in a game. Polygon reports that it's the technology behind transporting Disney Infinity figurines into the game via an NFC-powered pad.

Because of this, Nintendo senior managing director Shigeru Miyamoto says that enhancing this feature and making games that suit this will be their priority.

Aside from this, Nintendo is also reportedly on the drawing board for games that will make use of multiple GamePads.

"With regards to the two GamePads functionality, from a gaming system standpoint we are developing games that will have that capacity," Miyamoto said to ComputerandVideoGames.
