Analysts said that iPhone 4S is living up to its hype and will beat Apple's previous sales records.

Online Apple store, AT&T and Verizon Wireless initially reported that they sold out iPhone 4S supply on preorders due to the overwhelming demand on the product.

Despite with the initial disappointment when Apple launched the iPhone 4S and not the mythical iPhone 5, the sales are still skyrocketing. The demand on the new iPhone indicates that it is the fastest selling phone to date.

AT&T, Verizon and Sprint all opened iPhone 4S pre-orders last Friday. AT&T reported that it sold 200,000 units in 12 hours. However, none of the other networks disclosed pre-orders figures.

Other reports suggest that in the past three days of availability, Apple sold 1.7 million iPhone 4S handsets. Surprisingly, Apple's iPhone 4S continues to sell despite Samsung's initiatives to block it in some countries such as in France and Italy.

According to Reuters, some analysts expect between 27 and 28 million iPhones to be sold in the current quarter between October and December this year. Sales is expected to increase because of the upcoming Christmas season.

At first, many people are skeptical with Apple's iPhone 4S since the public is expecting iPhone 5. However, iPhone 4S seems to be breaking the records of its predecessors.

The huge demand is attributed on the new iOS 5 and Siri feature. One of the good news in the recent Apple's media event is the introduction of the new iOS 5. iPhone 4S already has a built-in iOS 5 so consumers no longer have to upgrade it. The Siri feature is another point for the iPhone 4S. Siri is the voice-controlled organizer that can transform human commands into actions.

Aside from the new specs and features of the iPhone 4S, another reason for the boost sale is the untimely death of Apple's founder and ex-chief Steve Jobs. His death caused an additional hype for the newest generation of iPhone. The emotional outpouring of fans enticed purchases in honor of one of the greatest innovators of the generation.

The new handset will hit the international market (United States, Canada, Europe and Australia) on Oct. 14, at 8 a.m.

Apple's next-generation iPhone 4S comes in black or white. The 16GB model costs $199, the 32GB model costs $299, and the 64GB model costs $399, on two year contracts.
