Twilight damsel in distress, Kristen Stewart, said that she liked playing roles that has "gusto and kick ass." Does this mean that she will not play the role of submissive and masochistic Anastacia Steele?

The 22-year-old actress enjoyed playing the role of a physically and mentally strong characters and she was excited when she played the role of Snow White in the latest remake of fairy tale. Kristen Stewart said that she liked playing the role because of her attitude and bravery.

''I hate girl power movies, when the people you're rooting for are not girls. That's what I was attracted to. I've always wanted to find a role where I can challenge myself physically, I really like getting the opportunity to hurt myself for the job but what I loved was that Snow White is someone who has the gusto and kicks ass but she's not a dude." says the actress to Bang Magazine.

She remains, steady. I'm not built to be physically strong, you have to outsmart someone, you have to be physically and mentally quicker, you have to have a strong heart.'' added Stewart.

"Nothing is that simple. Every time Snow White has to do something and not be crippled by fear I'm into that, one of the things I wanted to do was see how far I could push myself. The reason they hire these big huge burly dudes to work on these movies is because it's hard," the actress further shared.

Anastacia Steele is the leading lady of E.L. James' erotic novel "50 Shades of Grey," which was a story developed from a Twilight fan fiction originally titled "Master of the Universe." Originally, the piece featured characters named after Stephenie Meyer's characters in Twilight, Edward Cullen and Bella Swan.

Kristen Stewart who starred and sky-rocketed her career as a vampire's muse Bella Swan in the 'Twilight Saga' franchise said she was keen to play Snow White that allow her to ''push'' herself and she particularly enjoyed playing the character when she overcame fears within the storyline. There are reports that the trilogy encouraged bondage, domination, sadomasochism and submissive sex among young adults.

The movie "Snow White and the Huntsman," which also stars Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth, will hit the Australian theaters in June 21.
