Some people were looking forward to a price cut for its next-gen consoles, with the next gen consoles PS4 and Xbox One/Xbox 720 finally announced and accepting pre-orders.

Nintendo fans are even hoping that the Wii U will also follow this trend, seeing as how it aims to compete against next-gen consoles with a now year-old device.

However, it seems that none of the three consoles will receive a price drop. MCV UK reports that the Xbox 360 will not have a price drop, but there is a rumored new-look Xbox 360, which will be released at the same price as the current-gen console.

The report states that this will be a redesigned version, with the price tag pegged at $199 for 4GB SKU and 299 for those with a 4GB Kinect or the 250 GB version.

This may be Microsoft's way of offering a budget console for those who either can't afford an Xbox One, considering that it has recently abolished its used games and 24-hour online check-ins.

As for the PS3, there are no plans as of yet for price cuts, though there is still hope, as GameSpot quoted its marketing director Fergal Gara, "There are no plans yet. The PS3 is a system where it hasn't been particularly easy to get the costs down. We continue to look at opportunities, there may or may not be any more."

Hopefully, if there won't be any price cuts, Sony will be more willing to offer packages for potential new buyers of the current-gen.

Nintendo has also already stated that a price cut for its Wii U may not be possible.

"From the very beginning, we came up with a very aggressive price point," said CEO Satoru Iwata in a statement quoted by CVG. "We do not think [a price cut] is a very easy option to take."

This was far from how the 3DS was marketed and was able to jumpstart sales, as now, wherein its price tag was slashed off to an enticing new price of $170 from the $249 value.

It seems that Sony and Microsoft will be banking on its next-gen consoles for sales this year-without foregoing the notion that both current-gen consoles are still a great way to enter the gaming territory-while Nintendo can bank on the many new titles that it introduced at the E3 conference.

Assassin's Creed 4 has a surprise

Those who will be playing the upcoming adventure-combat game on either the PS4 or the Xbox One will be happy to hear that an Easter Egg is hidden within, as recently revealed by Ash Ismail of Ubisoft.

In an interview with CVG, it was teased that secrets in the game will delight fans, though further details were left unsaid for the gamers to just explore in the game once they get their hands on it.

There have been speculations, with the possibility of teaming up with other Ubisoft games, such as Fry Cry or Watch Dogs, the latter of which is also slated for a next-gen release come the holidays.

Battlefield 4 to get more game modes?

Just recently, three new game modes were reportedly discovered through the Battlefield 3 alpha trial. The Gamers Drop reports that a participant was able to discover a list of potential new game modes, possibly as a part of the multiplayer aspect of the game.

The modes had the names Playground, Elimination, and Obliteration. The report continues that there hasnot yet been any official word on the game modes, as to whether they may be part of the game once it's released.

It is also possibility that these game modes will be reserved for DLC additional content, as the alpha titles may or may not make it to the release launch during the holidays with the Xbox One.

Still, it's a bit of good news for those who want to be assured that there will be a lot to expect and more to come with the Battlefield 4 game.
