Nokia Lumia 1520: Windows Phone Phablet Release Date Set on September 26
Nokia's upcoming first Windows Phone phablet, the Nokia Lumia 1520, is reportedly set for its official release date on September 26. The latest information, in addition to the Nokia device's leaked images and specs, came from the reliable mobile device source @evleaks who made the announcement through a Twitter post.

"Nokia Lumia 1520: launches 9/26," @evleaks shared on social networking site Twitter. However, the Finnish smartphone manufacturer has not given any statement yet to confirm or deny the reported released date and the pricing scheme for the Nokia Lumia 1520 has not yet been revealed as well.

The Nokia Lumia 1520 phablet is expected to sport a 6-inch Full HD screen display with 1920x1080p resolution in a polycarbonate design, the power of a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, Windows Phone 8 GDR3, 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage capacity with a microSD card slot for memory storage expansion and 20MP camera with the Nokia PureView technology as well as the Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) feature.
The other details on the upcoming Nokia Lumia 1520 includes leaked images, availability at U.S. carrier AT&T, the codename "Beastie" instead of the initially reported "Bandit" and inclusion of the Wireless charging feature. In the numerous leaked images of the Nokia Lumia 1520, one shows the upcoming phablet with the Wireless charging feature from the contact points located at the rear of the Nokia device.
Nokia offers as well wireless charging accessories that support the impressive feature also found in other Nokia Lumia handsets. To make the Nokia Lumia 1520 more interesting, the codename "Beastie" has been given to the device.
The information about the new codename was revealed on Twitter as Tom Warren of The Verge shared the news to his followers. The Twitter post on his account @tomwarren on Tuesday, September 10, reads: "This is the Lumia 1520 (codenamed Beastie) on AT&T. See if you notice anything different from other pics. pic.twitter.com/YjZLrJ40MW" with the upcoming phablet's image attached.
The Finnish company is expected to officially unveil the "Beastie" Nokia Lumia 1520 phablet on a scheduled event on September 26 and 27 in New York City.
