Nokia has officially confirmed the availability of the Nokia Lumia 625 smartphone in Australia on August 2013. According to the Finnish smartphone manufacturer, the Nokia Lumia 625 with 4G capability is set to be "widely available" on August 23 at the Allphones, Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi and Dick Smith retail stores with an outright retail price of $399.

"The Nokia Lumia 625 has our largest ever smartphone screen with 4G internet access and our latest apps. It's a handset with big personality, but happily for consumers a much smaller price tag," Steve Lewis, Nokia Australia's managing director stated.

Lewis further added: "Our focus remains on offering choice and value for customers, by continuing to deliver new developments and experiences across our smartphone range, at every price point. This is a key point of difference for us."

Other Australian telecommunications company will be offering as well the Windows Phone handset. Telstra and Optus availability of the Nokia Lumia 625 is expected to start before the month of August ends, Virgin Mobile will present the Nokia device in early September while Vodafone revealed to TechRadar the smartphone's availability in late August with $40 Hero plan and $0 handset repayments.

Colour choices for the Nokia Lumia 625 in Australia will be the white and black models. With Virgin Mobile, the smartphone will be offered with the white colour option and an additional orange changeable shell.

The Nokia Lumia 625 selling point is the large 4.7-inch screen size and 4G capability with a low pricing scheme. The Windows Phone 8 handset is packed with the 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM 2000mAh battery, 5MP camera and 8GB of internal storage capacity that can be expanded through the microSD card slot.

Other features include the LED flash and front-facing VGA camera that allows video calls. Despite the lack of NFC connectivity, the Nokia Lumia 625 still comes with numerous exclusive Nokia apps like HERE Maps, Nokia Music and 7GB available storage on SkyDrive.

The Nokia Lumia 625 features as well the Cinemagraph app and the latest Nokia Smart Camera app which can be found on the Nokia Lumia 925. The camera applications have the Best Shot, Action Shot and Motion Focus features that can help users in editing the captured images.
