Nokia Lumia 710: Is This the Best Windows 7 Phone?
The Nokia Lumia 710 is considered as Nokia's quality-value Windows Phone because it offers the features of a Windows Phone with an affordable price tag. Some experts even call it as the best Windows 7 Phone in the market, but does it live up with this title?
The Nokia Lumia 710 has dimensions of 119 x 62.4 x 12.5mm and utilizes a plastic design which makes it lighter (12g). Despite being lighter and having a plastic-based design, it does not mean that there is no quality in terms of how the phone was designed. The Nokia Lumia 710 also gives users the option to change the color of their handsets just like the old Nokia models in the past years. Users could choose from a wide range of colors like blue, pink, yellow, white, etc.
In terms of specifications, this handset also has a lot to offer for its users. It houses a 1.4GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor, Adreno 205 GPU, 512MB of RAM, 3.7-inch WVGA 480×800 display, 8GB of internal storage (24GB in total with microSD card slot), 5MP rear-facing camera, Windows Phone 7.5, 3G HSPA+ connectivity, and 1300mAh battery. Battery life is estimated at 7.6 hours 3G talk time and 400 hours maximum 3G standby time.
The Nokia Lumia 710 is considered as the younger sibling of Nokia Lumia 800. Both phones have similar specifications and the only difference is the 5MP camera that the Nokia Lumia 710 has. The Nokia Lumia 800 utilizes an 8MP Carl Zeiss Tessar lensed camera. Another notable difference here is the selling price for Nokia Lumia 710. In the U.S., this handset is offered through T-Mobile with a selling price of only US$49.99 (with a 2-year contract plan). Nokia and Microsoft have set this price in hopes of attracting customers from the middle and low-range markets. Presently, Android is dominating in this marketing area. Both companies are also hoping to entice customers to experience Windows 7 through introducing a less expensive Nokia Lumia 710 to the market.
In terms of purchasing Nokia Lumia 710 in the Australian market, Nokia Australia has confirmed that the phone would be available in the year 2012 though no definite date has been mentioned.
