Ending the slew of rumors surrounding its newest flagship phone for carrier Verizon, Nokia has finally announced the Lumia 928 Windows 8 phone.

Among the touted features include the PureView camera, an 8.7 megapixel rear-facing camera, optical image stabilization and better low-light outputs.

TechCrunch reports that there are many viable features that were taken from the Lumia 920, such as the wireless charging , NFC technology, a 4.5-inch display, ad 1280x768 display resolution.

There are key differences, according to Gizmodo, such as the OLED display to replace the ClearBlack version on the Lumia 920, as well as the new Xenon flash, which is still for the improvement of the Lumia 928's camera. But as a whole, the Lumia 928 may be the photo enthusiast's Lumia 920.

Release date and price tag

Those who want to get their hands on the Lumia 928 can look forward to this week as the release date has been pegged for May 16. It' an exclusive Verizon device, and will be sold in white or black versions for $99.99 with a $50 mail-in-rebate and a two-year contract, reports The Verge.
