So it's down to the last 50 layers for the Curiosity experiment, an upcoming iOS and Android debut game from 22 Cans and Peter Molyneux, former Microsoft Creative Director.

Considering that only three people supposedly know what's inside the cube, it's not surprising that more than five million users have been chipping away the cubelets that make up that one giant cube, reports Computer and Video Games.

This has been going on for seven months and approximately 25 billion cubes destroyed.

While the effort seems like a massive task, Molyneux reveals that when the final block is broken, only that one person who as able to do the job will be entitled to a life-changing reward inside the cube.

"What's in there is as experimental and thought-provoking as the whole game. It is definitely life-changing, by any measure, and it's only possible into today's world."

From board game to iOS with Eclipse

From Big Daddy's Creations and lead game designer Touko Tahkokallio, Eclipse: New Dawn for the Galaxy goes into a four-E mode game. This means you can explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate within the board game, reports Game Informer.

You have seven races with varying strengths and pitfalls, customizable environment, and up to six-man play which can involve AI if you choose.

Eclipse: New Dawn for the Galaxy is already out on the iOS for $6.99, currently with no in-app purchase or plans for expansion. Check out the launch trailer here.

Watch out for Ace Patrol next week

An entire line-up of 30 WWI aircraft, 120 missions, single-player, multiplayer, and competitive plays through Game Center are all available starting May 9 next week as Sid Meier's Ace Patrol hits the App Store.

From Firaxis Games, Ace Patrol is a follow-up (of sorts) to the developers hit Haunted Hollow. This time around, you can develop pilots and participate in strategic air combat, reports Joystiq.

Other features of the game include building your own troop of Aces with special skills, playing turn-based modes, and upgrading your pilots throughout the course of the game.
