The much-awaited, Verizon-exclusive Nokia Windows 8 phone Lumia 928 seems to be gearing for app accompaniments and a Lytro-style camera feature in time for the device's release.

Digital Trends reports that Nokia may be readying to release major boosts in the camera feature for its Lumia flagship phones. One of these major changes involves the integration of a 41-megapixel camera into the Lumia phones--considering that the highest in the market so far is a 13-megapixel, this is a pretty big leap that will push its standing to the lead.

But it doesn't stop there, as Nokia is also reported to be considering Pelican Imaging for its camera, where the short version of it all is that multiple optics will form a single image, similar to the way a Lytro camera works.

This means that, if successful, you'll be able to just take photos, and worry about all the editing later, particularly the focus of the photo. That's a big leap for the smartphone camera, and if Nokia is aiming to pave a niche for its smartphones in the already crowded industry, this may be the push that it needs.

Besides that, however, the Nokia Lumia 928 is also rumored to be released side by side with three apps.

Instagram

An app that has been, for the most part, elusive for non-Android and non-iOS users. Even BlackBerry has been having a hard time courting a native app for its BB10, and for the longest time, Windows 8 has also encountered a hard time getting Instagram to its own side.

However, rumors about the Instagram finally making its way to the Windows 8 phone broke wind with the Nokia Lumia 928, specifically when reports came in about how the Lumia 928 will launch with an Instagram app.

Supposed proof of this revolves around a Swedish tweet regarding Nokia's plans to bring the app to the soon-to-be-released phones, which may also be the confirmation of long-held rumors of Instagram on the Windows Phone.

Digital Trends adds that to bolster the possibility of Instragram finally appearing on the Windows Phone, users can sign up for the Nokia-made app #2InstaWithLove, where they can take pictures with an added hashtag.

It's not exactly a replacement for Instagra, but more of a way for users to show just how much an Instagram app would be well-received when it finally makes it to the Windows Phone.

Temple Run 2

A smash sequel to the smash hit game that had already enjoyed over 170 million downloads, Temple Run 2 has already enjoyed a free run in the Windows Phone 8 since late March.

Technically, it's a freemium app, as you would have to purchase bonuses and other materials in-app, but also optionally. If Temple Run 2 for the Lumia 928 is similar to what's already available, you can easily get it at 1GB of RAM.

Jetpack Joyride

Another game is rumored to be headed for the Nokia Lumia 928 in time for the Windows 8 smartphone's release.

WM Power User reports that Microsoft may be looking at Jetpack Joyride as part of the apps list ready for launch.

Jetpack Joyride is the brainchild of Fruit Ninja developer Halfbrick. Aside from being a hit game for the PS3 and PS Vita, wherein Joystiq reports that it has sold over a million copies for the two consoles, it is also a hit for smartphone users.

The game finds players in the shoes of Barry Steakfries, who aims to break into a secret lab and take experimental jetpacks from the clutches of evil. Considering that it's from the creators of one of the addictive mobile games, it's no wonder Microsoft is planning to put this in the lineup release.
