Top-ranked male tennis player Novak Djokovic recently shared some insights on what motivates him and drives his on-court performance. Djokovic’s success on the tennis court may be enough to inspire him to perform even better, but the Serbian said there is more to life than tennis.

In the insightful video (seen below) that Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) has posted on its official YouTube page, Djokovic shares how he gets willpower from other parts of his life. According to him, he looks into the positive aspects of his life which renew his confidence and get him inspired to build on his current success.

The Serbian, who finished as World No. 1 in the year-end rankings for the fourth time in his career, knows that no one stays at the top forever. He said that life is not all about winning but what gives him happiness.

“It’s all about, basically, defining what you really want to do and what makes you happy,” Djokovic said. “Family world means most to me. That’s the meaning of life to me. Kind of entered a new dimension of love, new dimensions of energy - those emotions helped me become a better tennis player as well.”

Djokovic became the brand ambassador of ANZ in January 2015.

The 10-time grand slam champion married his then-longtime girlfriend, Jelena Ristic, in 2014 after winning the Wimbledon Championships. Ristic gave birth to their first son, Stefan, in October of the same year. While some find it hard to balance their family life and career, it does not seem to be the case for the sensational Serb.

A summer wedding and a baby boy after, Djokovic has achieved even greater levels of success. This season, Djokovic has surpassed his famed 2011 season. He won three grand slam titles (Australian Open, Wimbledon, US Open) and claimed a runner-up finish at the Roland Garros, the only tournament that he is yet to win a trophy. The 28-year-old ended the year with 11 titles and 82-6 record.
