In the early part of October, singer Madonna revealed in a magazine essay that she was raped at knifepoint in 1978 when she was new in New York City. If the incident also marked her first sexual experience, then the nude photos she made almost two years earlier at age 18 would fit into her first hit - Like a Virgin.

There was a chance that Madonna Louis Ciccone was still a virgin when she did a nude photo shoot for photographer Herman Kulkens. She did the photo shoot in 1977 when she was still a dance student at the University of Michigan. Mr Kulkens paid her $10 an hour for her first nude photo shoot.

He recalled meeting her in an art sculpture class and was reminded of Cleopatra.

Penthouse founder Bob Guccione bought the pictures which became the property of Jeremy Frommer who purchased the deceased Penthouse owner's entire estate from his creditors in 2012.

The photos, which include Nude Frontal Shots are for auction on Nov 9. Included in the auction are oil paintings previously owned by Mr Guccione.

A peek at the 21 photos and oil paintings published by Huffington Post showed the Material Girl with just an open shirt or sheer material to cover some of her nicely shaped anatomy.

However, Huffington Post blurred the nipple and crotch areas since Madonna had several frontal shots with bare breasts and her private parts in full view.

Inquistr reported that after the first nude photo session, Madonna had more naked pictorials with three other photographers over the next three years.

Liz Rosenberg, the singer's publicist, confirmed the nude photos of Madonna, now 55, are authentic, although she reportedly had an outburst on live TV when she heard of the auction, which Mr Frommer said some auction houses are reluctant to accept the job.

In 2009, Christie's auctioned Madonna's unpublished nude photos for a Playboy pictorial which fetch about $10,000. Madonna was 20 years old in those photos for which she was paid $25 modeling fee.
