The final episode of “The OA” season 1 has left fans to theorise that Prairie (Brit Marling) met her demise. Fans can recall that she was shot by the school shooter, which no one has identified, and got taken away in an ambulance. It is likely that the lead character has died after her mission to save the school children. Therefore, the first episode of “The OA” season 2 may kick off with Prairie’s death.

Several “The OA” fans have never failed to notice that there was a subtle sound of the doors of the ambulance shut when it was about to go. There was a “Whoosh,” which some viewers believe could mean something. After all, it is the same sound that Dr. Hunter Hap (Jason Isaacs) described as the sound of souls escaping the body.

And then there was a sight of Steve (Patrick Gibson) as he looked up into the wind. He heard the sound himself. Vulture notes that it is reasonable to think that Prairie has died in “The OA” season 1.

“The OA” follows the story of Prairie as she left home to find her father on her 21st birthday. She has adoptive parents, but she decided not to let them know about her plan. She arrived in New York, but got no luck in finding her father.

Instead of her dad, she bumped into Hap. The latter found her while playing her violin in a subway station. He came to her and asked if she ever had a near-death experience.

Prairie told him that when she was young, she died in a car accident. She apparently was able to come to life, but lost her vision in the process. In the end, Prairie went along with her newfound friend, not realising that he is actually a foe.

“The OA” season 1 was shown in Australia on Netflix. Air date for its second season is yet to be announced.
