‘OITNB’ star Ruby Rose’s fiancée loves Australian food
Known for her role as Stella Carlin in “Orange is the New Black” Season 2, Ruby Rose hosted the GQ Awards in Sydney on Nov. 10. She was accompanied by her fiancée Phoebe Dahl, granddaughter of British author Roald Dahl.
In an interview with News.com.au at the GQ Awards, Phoebe said she really loved her trip to Australia with the “OITNB” star. She also has nothing but good words about Australian food.
“The food is so good here,” Phoebe said. “We eat our way through Australia and then we have to leave.”
According to Phoebe, the trip enabled her to come back and see where her fiancée is from as well as her heritage. It was also Rose’s first time in Australia in about eight months.
Phoebe and Rose, who got engaged in 2014, went to Melbourne to visit family on Nov. 12. Rose’s mother Katia Langenheim walked the black carpet with Rose and her fiancée Phoebe Dahl during the magazine’s award ceremony.
As the GQ Woman Of The Year, the “OITNB” star is set to grace the cover of the magazine. The “OITNB” actress pointed out that many talented people within Australia who worked really hard do not get the credit that they deserve as they are deprived of awards and magazine covers that they deserve.
Rose said she “needed to leave” Australia because she had done everything in the country and people were “sick” of her. However, she said that as soon as she landed the role of Stella Carlin in “OITNB” and America “kind of embraced” her, she had “this huge resurgence in Australia.”
For Rose, the people she is most excited to see are those who were always rooting for her. She added that these people always believed she was going to be something or do something she never thought she was capable of.
Along with “Fargo” star Peter Sotmare and “Burnt” Riccardo Scamarcio, Rose was recently added to the cast of “John Wick 2,” Deadline reported. Directed by Chad Stahelski, the sequel stars John Leguizamo, Lance Reddick, Bridget Moynahan and Thomas Sadoski.
