The latest “Once Upon A Time” Season 4 brings back the Wicked Witch Zelena (Rebecca Mader), who wants revenge for her miserable past. Trapped, Rumplestiltskin aka Gold (Robert Carlyle) blackmails Regina (Lana Parrilla) so she’d save Robin Hood (Sean Maguire) and hurt Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison).

Episode 18 of “Once Upon A Time” Season 4, titled “Heart of Gold,” aired Sunday, April 12, on ABC. This weekend’s new episode reveals how the Wicked Witch Zelena is able to hurt her sister Regina again. Gold’s New York connection to Robin Hood and Regina is also explained.

After Belle (Emilie de Ravin) threw him out of Storybrooke, Gold goes to Neal’s (Michael Raymond-James) apartment in New York. He finds Robin Hood, Marian (Christie Laing) and their son settling in. Gold is struck by a heart attack, and Robin is compelled to help him.

In their enchanted past, Rumple asked Robin to get a heal-all elixir from Zelena in Oz. Robin got the elixir, but he gave it to the Knave of Hearts aka Will (Michael Socha). This act of kindness is linked to Will showing Robin his “happy ending” page, the same reason Regina started Operation Mongoose with Henry (Jared S. Gilmore) and Emma.

In New York, Robin got the same elixir, but Zelena foiled Gold’s plan. Episode 18 revealed the real Marian never made it back to Storybrooke at the end of “Once Upon A Time” Season 3 finale. Zelena killed Marian and used her form to fool Regina, Emma, Gold, Robin and the rest of Storybrooke.

Using the elixir as bait in OUA 4x18, Zelena forced Gold to make a deal with her, even as Gold failed to avenge Neal’s death, after all. The deal puts Regina’s happy ending in jeopardy. Now, Gold wants Regina to turn Emma Swan into dark magic lest Zelena would kill Robin Hood.

The question hangs at the end of “Once Upon A Time” Season 4, episode 18: Will Regina choose to save Robin Hood or make sure Emma Swan aka the Saviour remains in the side of light magic? Regina, the former evil queen, is now in a position to save the saviour -- again.
