According to TVLine, OUAT producers are looking into casting the role of Evanna, the mother of Rumplestiltskin a.k.a. Mr Gold. Avid OUAT viewers already know that Peter Pan is Rumple’s father, Baelfire’s grandfather and Henry’s great grandfather. Having Evanna in Season 5 would mean a deeper look into Rumple’s complicated past.
Evanna is “stunningly beautiful,” as well as “plucky, strong and imbued with an unshakeable sense of self-confidence,” TVLine reported. The same report mentioned the former Dark One’s mother had a “noble spirit,” which she could have passed on to Baelfire and Henry.
At this point, fans who have been following OUAT updates know that “Once Upon A Time” Season 5 is going to be about saving Emma Swan. It remains to be seen whether Evanna has some connection with Merlin, who is the key character expected to save Emma.
Mr Gold may wake up a different person in the premiere of “Once Upon A Time” Season 5. The Sorcerer’s Apprentice was able to take out the darkness in his heart, but not without a price. Rumple was out of the scene when Emma Swan uses herself to tether all the darkness that Merlin has captured for centuries. Will the former Dark One help save Emma?
“Once Upon A Time” Season 5 is expected to premiere around September or October on ABC. The roles of Merlin, King Arthur and Guinevere are also being cast.
