'Once Upon a Time' Season 5 spoilers: Executive producers tease on OUAT villain Zelena and Camelot storyline

Executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis preview on the Camelot storyline and villain Zelena/Wicked Witch of the West (Rebecca Mader) in “Once Upon a Time” Season 5. ABC also offers the OUAT fans with a special that will explore on Emma Swan (Jennifer Swan), the new Dark One.

In “Once Upon a Time” Season 4, Regina/Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla) found out that Zelena is expecting a child with Robin Hood (Sean Maguire). Series creator and executive producer Edward Kitsis describes OUAT character Zelena as the wild card in the show.

“She’s like the Hannibal Lecter,” Kitsis said in TVLine’s Fall Preview Q&A. Kitsis explained that people can never really trust Zelena because no one knows her true motives.

Kitsis further teased that the OUAT fans will see the reason why they should be frightened of Zelena in the premiere episode of “Once Upon a Time” Season 5 titled “The Dark Swan.” Meanwhile, Kitsis revealed that Camelot and the search for Merlin (Elliot Knight) are very relevant to the central goal of the Storybrooke heroes.

Emma Swan’s family and friends will go on a mission of finding and saving her from becoming the new Dark One. One of the interesting storylines the OUAT fans should watch out for in season 5 is the bromance between Prince Charming/David (Josh Dallas) and King Arthur (Liam Garrigan).

According to co-creator Adam Horowitz, Camelot’s timeline in “Once Upon a Time” Season 5 works just like the Enchanted Forest or Arendelle. Horowitz teased that all locations are just a couple of days ride away from each other.

Aside from focusing on Emma Swan as the new Dark One, ABC’s unique special titled “Dark Swan Rises: A Once Upon a Time Fan Celebration” will also highlight the other OUAT characters that the fans love. “Once Upon a Time” cast members will be answering the fan-submitted questions and discussing the favorite moments on the show as voted by the OUAT fans in ABC’s OUAT celebration special.

“Dark Swan Rises: A Once Upon a Time Fan Celebration” will air on Sunday night, Sept. 27, at 7/8c on ABC. “Once Upon a Time” Season 5 also premieres on Sept. 27 at 8/7c.
