Oppo 'Find 7': Sports 13-MP Camera That Transforms Captured Images to 50 MP; Specifications, Price, Launch Date
The Chinese electronics manufacturer Oppo's latest smartphone "Find 7" debuts in China, and it is the second smartphone to boast a 5.5-inch "Quad HD display." Vivo Xplay 3S was the first one to sport a "Quad HD display." But Oppo might be the one to get more people talking about it.
Specifications
This phone has a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels, which is four times as that of a 720p TV. This whopping pixel range puts an end to hazy fonts, reports CNet.
Oppo Find 7 also features a super-sharp screen, packed with a 2.5 GHZ quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage (houses a microSD slot). It also boasts a 3,000 mAh battery.
A custom firmware, ColorOs, powers the device. The OS is modeled after Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The Find 7 can also support a range of LTE bands and can work in China, Mexico, the U.S. and in most other countries.
Oppo will also be offering a full-HD version of the device with 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. This version features less storage at 16 GB, a tad slower quad-core processor 2.3 GHz and a 2,800 mAh battery.
Crazy Camera
The smartphone houses a 13-MP camera with dual-LED flash. This camera is capable of turning out "50-megapixel images," claims ZDnet.
The software "Pure Image 2.0" makes 50-MP shots possible with a much lesser camera, Engadget reports. The camera takes 10 consecutive shots one after the other and then combines the best four shots into a 50-MP image.
The main camera supports 4K video recording.
However, Nokia Lumia 1020 captures a 41-MP image and then uses oversampling to give users high quality images.
Fitness Band
In the wearable devices arena, Oppo showcases its fitness band called "O-Band", which apparently tracks a user's sleep patterns.
Launch Date
Oppo Find 7 and Find 7a will be available by the middle of April. The phone is priced at $599 (Find 7) and $499 (Find 7a), according to CNet.
With a good set of specs including its interesing camera, this phone might just have the potential to be users' favourite in the coming months.
