‘The Originals’ Episode 12 ‘Dance Back From The Grave’ Recap/Spoilers: Papa Tunde, The Resurrected Powerful Warlock Introduced
In the previous "The Originals" episode "Après Moi, Le Déluge," Celeste (Shannon Kane) resurrected three more powerful witches and viewers are eager to find out who these characters are. Papa Tunde (Owiso Odera) gets introduced in Episode 12 titled "Dance Back From The Grave" revealing his story and plan of getting back at the Original hybrid Klaus (Joseph Morgan).
Spoiler alert: This feature contains major spoilers on "The Originals" Episode 12 "Dance Back From The Grave." The flashback scenes showed how Papa Tunde became the leader of the witches in New Orleans.
The warlock used his strength of practicing dark sacrificial magic to earn the locals' trust and help them from a dark power approaching. The next flashback scene featured the Mikaelson brothers Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Klaus making a deal with a werewolf family but it was interrupted when Papa Tunde entered declaring that he wants a part in ruling the city.
Klaus brings back vampire Thierry (Callard Harris) from The Garden but Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), who is still upset with Davina's (Danielle Campbell) death, does not seem happy or interested. Marcel even walked away after Diego (Eka Darville) informed about some vampires getting killed from dark magic.
The vampires decided to further investigate on the symbols suddenly appearing in New Orleans but Rebekah (Claire Holt) and Thierry's discovery at the docks placed the Mikaelson sister in danger when Papa Tunde revealed himself. Rebekah was no match with the powerful warlock making Thierry scram as Papa Tunde performed a spell on the blonde vampire to gain more power.
Elijah got worried when Rebekah failed to answer his phone calls so he decided to look for his younger sister. Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) joined Elijah for the search after insisting that she wants to help in rescuing Rebekah from trouble.
Papa Tunde's conflict with Klaus started in 1919 and the powerful warlock wants to get back at Klaus for killing him and his twin sons. This episode has also revealed the secret that Marcel and Rebekah has been keeping for so long.
Marcel admitted that he was the one who brought Papa Tunde in town to send Klaus away or to distract Klaus so he and Rebekah can have a romantic relationship. Since Marcel failed in his plan, Rebekah revealed that their father Mikael (Sebastian Roché) has the power to make Klaus leave New Orleans.
The episode's ending scene had Papa Tunde sacrificing his life to put his power in Celeste's hands. More trouble is still expected to follow Klaus since there are three more resurrected witches roaming the French Quarter.
The She Knows Entertainment report on the next "The Originals" episode titled "Crescent City" tease about the new faces appearing like the two other powerful witches, Genevieve (Elyse Levesque) and Bastianna (Shannon Eubanks), a male character named Oliver meeting up with Rebekah and a new werewolf named Jackson.
"The Originals" Episode 13 "Crescent City" is scheduled to air on Tuesday night, February 4, at 8 p.m. ET on the CW network.
