'The Originals' Episode 19 'An Unblinking Death' Recap/Spoilers: Klaus Ends Father Kieran’s Suffering, Chaos Explodes in New Orleans
Chaos continues to shake New Orleans as the group of vampires, humans, witches and werewolves vie for power. Additionally, another character met his end after suffering from a powerful witch's hex.
Spoiler alert: This feature contains major spoilers on "The Originals" Episode 19 titled "An Unblinking Death." Father Kieran (Todd Stashwick) is getting worse and his niece Cami (Leah Pipes) is getting desperate in saving him.
Elijah (Daniel Gillies) arrived at the bayou to talk to Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), Jackson (Nathan Parsons) and Oliver (Chase Coleman) about Klaus (Joseph Morgan). Then, someone arrived riding a motorcycle and asking who is in charge. "Who's asking?" Jackson responded but the unknown man just gave a creepy smile.
Elijah figured out the threat and dived at the mysterious man. However, it was too late and the motorcycle exploded leaving the Original vampire and the werewolves either wounded or dead.
After receiving a phone call from Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), Klaus arrived to convince Cami not to do the electroshock therapy on her uncle. Cami wants to keep on doing the therapy to bring back her uncle but Klaus told her to just stop because it will kill Father Kieran.
Hayley suspects Marcel is behind the explosions at the bayou so she confronts Diego (Eka Darville) to give her the location where Marcel is hiding. Back at the bayou, Elijah continued to notice the other bombs planted at the trailers and it set off hurting and killing more werewolves.
Marcel knew Hayley was coming so he assured the pregnant werewolf that he had nothing to do with hurting her pack. Instead, Marcel revealed information on Hayley's family that made him put the curse to stop the killings.
Marcel further told Hayley that he has a thing for kids and she is the living proof. The vampire even called Hayley by her real name: Andrea Labonair.
Eve (Tasha Ames) got injured in the second explosion but she will not be able to heal because she never activated her werewolf curse. Elijah offered his blood to heal her but Oliver refused and revealed that he knows who is responsible.
Oliver wanted Eve to kill someone to trigger the werewolf curse so she can heal but Eve had a feeling that Oliver did something wrong. It turns out it was Oliver who set up the bombs and sent the suicide bomber.
Oliver admitted that he only did that because he wanted to make some noise that would blame their nemesis, the vampires. When Eve told Oliver that he will be in trouble once the pack finds out what he did, Oliver decided to keep it a dark secret so he smothered Eve with a pillow.
At the church attic, Klaus massaged Father Kieran's heart because he is dying. Cami asked the Original hybrid to turn her uncle so he will not die that way and Klaus agreed to Cami's request.
Father Kieran asked Cami to bring some important stuff but she was not able to find the key that the priest usually wore around his neck. Father Kieran revealed that the key was an important part of the family legacy.
Klaus paid Genevieve (Elyse Levesque) a visit to inquire about Father Kieran's hex and the bombing at the bayou. The powerful witch told Klaus that the witches had nothing to do with the explosion and the hex will still return even though Father Kieran died and turned into a vampire.
The effect of the hex made Father Kieran attack Cami but Klaus arrived in time to save her. Cami finally gave Klaus the go signal and the Original hybrid staked him. Then, Klaus called Marcel to inform him that Father Kieran is dead and his exile is temporarily lifted so he can console Cami and attend the funeral.
After everything that has happened, Elijah decided to side with his brother in the upcoming war. As for Father Kieran's missing key, it is now in the hands of Marcel after Josh (Steven Krueger) took it. According to Marcel, Cami is not yet ready for it.
"The Originals" will return on Tuesday night, April 29, at 8 pm ET on the CW Network with Episode 20 titled "A Closer Walk with Thee."
