Spoiler Alert: Read at your own risk. This review recaps the highlights of "The Originals" Season 1 Episode 4 titled "Girl in New Orleans."
The Music Festival
It seems like Marcel is raising a child of his own with Davina whom he protects from his enemies by keeping her in an attic. The 16-year-old powerful witch wants to go to the music festival, and with her powers, she was able to get Marcel's permission after making his blood boil.
However, Marcel offered Davina a compromise that she can go the music festival with a chaperone and Cami (Leah Pipes), his lady love, was the person on his mind. Additionally, Marcel has asked his followers to keep an eye on Cami and his secret weapon.
Klaus Uses Cami in His Plan
At the music festival, Davina showed her strong affection for a boy named Tim. Klaus took it as a perfect opportunity to get what he wants from Davina so he compelled Cami to bring the young lovers together. Klaus bravely faced the young powerful witch and revealed that he wants her to swear allegiance to him.
If Davina refused, Klaus threatened to hurt Tim. Seeing Tim badly injured made Davina vulnerable, and Klaus offered to cure the young boy with his blood which Davina agreed to without hesitation in order to save the special person in her life. Klaus succeeded in creating a connection with Davina and reminded the witch that she now owes him a favor after saving Tim.
Pregnant Hayley in Danger
Klaus became pre-occupied with his plans against Marcel, and he was not able to see danger coming towards Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), who bears his vampire-werewolf hybrid child. A witch named Agnes (Karen Kaia Livers) convinced Hayley to see a doctor but it was actually a trap, as the other witches conspired in killing Hayley and her baby. Klaus eventually found out about what happened to Hayley and got upset with the witches because they were supposed to protect her.
Cami's Twin Brother
Klaus may have shown little compassion to Cami after she shared a part of her horrible past with the Original involving her twin brother. There has been a church massacre, and Cami's brother was the person responsible. So, Cami is determined to find out what really happened. But Klaus compelled her to carry on with her life, while making an emotional promise that he will help in finding out what happened to her brother.
Elijah's Back
The episode ending showed the un-daggered elder Original brother Elijah (Daniel Gillies) wanting to have a talk with Davina. Will the young, powerful witch trust Elijah after he promised that he meant no harm? Episode 5 of "The Originals" will be exciting now that the three Mikaelson siblings walk around New Orleans.
According to a TVFanatic report, the next episode will give viewers as well a back story on Davina, a Klaus-Marcel conflict and a new plan for witch Sophie Deveraux (Daniella Pineda). "The Originals" Season 1 Episode 5 "Sinners and Saints" airs on Tuesday night, Oct 29, at 8 pm ET on the CW Network.
