More details on "The Originals" Season 2 are beginning to come out as the premiere date of the new season approaches. The CW Network has officially released the synopsis of "The Originals" Season 2, a photo still to excite the fans on what's ahead in the new season and a spoiler about a possible return to Mystic Falls.

"Season 2 finds our heroes adjusting to a new status quo, with the newly empowered werewolves controlling the city and a myriad of unknown threats lurking," the CW synopsis for "The Originals" Season 2 reads in a Wet Paint report. The synopsis further revealed what "The Originals" characters will be up to in the upcoming new season.

Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) may have promised to get revenge and make New Orleans a safe place for their daughter, Hope, when she comes home but the two hybrids must battle their inner demons first. Hayley will be adjusting to her new life as a mother away from her child and a new vampire-werewolf hybrid while Original hybrid Klaus will be finding a way to get his strength backs since the full moon and the moonlight rings make him weak.

Meanwhile, Elijah (Daniel Gillies) is determined to tear down Francesca Correa (Peta Sergeant) and her pack of werewolves who succeeded in taking over the French Quarter in "The Originals" Season 1 penultimate episode titled "The Battle of New Orleans." In the process of destroying Francesca, Elijah will be enlisting Marcel's (Charles Michael Davis) help.

Klaus and Elijah's parents came back from the dead with different a different agenda on their minds. Davina (Danielle Campbell) controls Mikael (Sebastian Roché) but the Original vampire hunter is still determined to kill Klaus even though he has to go through the powerful teenage witch to accomplish it.

On the other hand, Esther (Alice Evans), who came back by possessing Cassie's (Natalie Dreyfuss) body, is stimulated with her consuming and twisted love for her children. The synopsis revealed that the Original witch will be working on her disturbing plan to reunite the Mikaelson family.

However, Esther's plan will involve an unspeakable suffering that the Original siblings and all of their loved ones must deal with. As for Cami (Leah Pipes), the bartender will focus once again on her studies and chase the normal life that she wanted before she met Klaus Mikaelson.

A TV Line report revealed a photo still from "The Originals" Season 2 featuring Klaus, Hayley and a hurt Oliver (Chase Coleman) meeting up in the woods. "Hayley's new status will force them to have some interesting conversations about what this means for their future," executive producer Michael Narducci teased. Click HERE to see photo.

The executive producer further revealed that Klaus will be destroying his enemies to a "quite catastrophic effect" and "The Originals" could head back to the town of Mystic Falls. "Remember, that's where the Original family was - in ancient Mystic Falls," Narducci teased.

"The Originals" Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Monday night, Oct. 6, at 8 p.m. ET on the CW Network.
