'Orphan Black' season 4 episode 3 recap: Felix introduces his sister Adele in 'The Stigmata of Progress'
Sarah is wary and starts feeling protective of Felix after Adele appears
Several characters returned in “Orphan Black” Season 4 Episode 3, titled “The Stigmata of Progress.” Some of the notable characters who made an appearance include Ferdinand (James Frain), Rachel, Charlotte (Cynthia Galant), Susan Duncan (Christy Bruce) and Ira.
A lot of people were willing to help Sarah (Tatiana Maslany), after she had a Neolution implant in her cheek.
During the episode, Felix (Jordan Gavaris) decided to look for his original family. He appeared with a woman, Adele (Lauren Hammersley), who claimed to be his sister, although it is highly doubtful that what she is saying is true.
Sarah did not like Adele from the beginning. Sarah remains protective over Felix and is wary that she may eventually lose her best friend to someone who claims to be biologically closer to him. Later, Felix was getting annoyed about Sarah who constantly appears out of nowhere and brushed her off. More of Adele will most likely be featured in upcoming episodes.
Adele is generally aloof and is very much into drugs. She is actually not good for Felix at this point since the latter needs a trustworthy and competent companion, not someone who would drag him deeper into trouble. Adele’s real intentions with Felix has not yet been revealed but it is almost certain that she is up to no good.
In the meantime, Rachel has been held captive for six weeks and has not received news about her mother. Rachel obviously does not trust her mother much after everything she has been through and having been kept isolated for a long time.
At one point, Rachel communicated with a Castor clone, Ira. Generally, Castor clones were raised in the military and tend to be very stiff. Ira, who grew up differently and never met any of his brothers, so there is a huge possibility that he might be convinced to help Rachel.
It was also revealed that Charlotte was cloned from Rachel’s DNA after hundreds of attempts. It means that Neolution successfully cloned someone without Kendall Malone. Charlotte also showed the same respiratory problems that plagued Cosima. There is a chance that Rachel and Charlotte may run away together, and that Charlotte will come across Cosima in the future.
“Orphan Black” Season 4 will air next on May 5, 2016 on BBC America.
