Oscar-winning director, Steven Soderbergh has announced that he would be retiring from filmmaking after finishing his last two projects.

Known for his box office hits, including “Traffic”, "Erin Brockovich” and “Ocean Eleven” series, Soderbergh said according to Reuters that he believes, this is his time.

"When you reach the point where you're, like, 'if I have to get into a van to do anther scout I'm just going to shoot myself,' it's time to let somebody else who's still excited about getting in the van, get in the van," the 48-year-old filmmaker was quoted by Reuters as telling in an interview with "Studio 360".

The multi-awarded director noted that he has been saying no to a number of projects in the last three years.

"And so it's just time. For the last three years, I've been turning down everything that comes my way, so you're not going to have Steven Soderbergh to kick around anymore,"he said, according to Reuters.

Soderbergh’s two other films before he finally calls it quits are "Liberace," with Damon and Michael Douglas, and "Man From U.N.C.L.E.," with George Clooney and he noted that working for these great actors in the said films is a ‘great way to story of step off’.
